Airport Shuttle
You can reserve a discounted shuttle ride, one-way or return, from either of Chicago's airports (O'Hare and Midway) with Airport Express. You may need to enter code DJANGOCON2013.
Light Rail
Chicago has a well-oiled mass transit system (CTA) with an extensive network of light rail (locally known as the "L" - much of the track is elevated above street level). You can get just about anywhere for less than $2.50 - and get a lift from either airport to downtown for the same price.
Three- and seven-day passes are available, as are maps, timetables, etc. at http://www.transitchicago.com/airports/#fare Here are transit-friendly directions from the airports to downtown:
From O'Hare International Airport:
Train pick-up below baggage claim area (follow signs to C.T.A.). Take "L-Train" to Clark/Lake stop (approx. 7 blocks from hotel). Walk East on Lake to Stetson St, turn left Stetson St and walk 1 block to the hotel. Note: This method is not recommended if you have more than 1 bag, as there are numerous escalators and turn-styles. Cabs are readily available (and not terribly expensive) for the seven-block run from the "L" stop to the hotel.
From Midway Airport:
From the airport take the Orange Line to the State and Lake Street stop. Walk 1 block north to Wacker. Take a right on Wacker and the hotel is approximately 3 blocks.
